LILA BLUE (all pronouns) is a twenty-four year old non-binary singer-songwriter, and performer based out of New York City.
They released their fourth LP, “Sweet Pea,” on Nov. 10th, 2023, on the MOXE label, and are currently developing an original musical about the life and work of artist Hilma af Klint.
Our Misson
SongSmith's mission is to promote a greater appreciation of the craft of songwriting and to help music fans make a deeper connection to this vital creative art form. We feature both nationally known artists and emerging local songwriters who deserve wider recognition. More than just another ‘unplugged music’ show, SongSmith lets the artists speak freely and share their personal insights into the creative process. Audience questions are an integral part of the experience and help to strengthen the bond between the artist and the listeners.
Our History
SongSmith has been building in the mind of Executive Producer John Kelly for several years. A lifelong musician and fan, John decided to return to his love of song craft after retiring from an extensive career in the entertainment industry. As he explored new ways to help songwriters share their work, be heard and appreciated by a larger audience, the SongSmith concept came to life. In the winter of 2018 John assembled the launch team of Reeya Banerjee, Zoe Markwalter, and Mark Westin. The pilot episode was streamed live on January 11, 2019 from Beacon Music Factory in Beacon, NY. The response was immediate and positive, and the team decided to continue developing the show. In the following months, the show moved to a new venue at LNJ Tech Services, additional production staff and volunteers were recruited, and song•smith became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

SongSmith's team of industry professionals is committed to presenting the art in the craft of songwriting. Our streaming video series features original songwriters of all genres in conversation and performance before a live studio audience. The SongSmith team is indebted to the musicians and fans in the Hudson Valley who continue to support our vision. We couldn’t do it without you.
